How the cat due date is worked out
The Merck Veterinary Manual gives cat pregnancy as 60 to 65 days, and says delivery typically happens 64 to 66 days after breeding. The calculator takes day 65 as the single best estimate and shows day 60–66 as the window you should be ready for.
Cats are induced ovulators: mating itself triggers the release of eggs, which is why queens are usually bred several times over two or three days (Merck). Enter the first mating date; if she was with the tom for several days, expect the birth toward the later end of the window.

When to call the vet: Merck describes labor as prolonged if the first or second stage goes past about 24 hours, or if more than 1–4 hours pass between kittens while she is in the delivery stage. A kitten that is stuck, a queen in obvious distress, or a pregnancy past its window also needs a vet straight away. Treat these as general guidance and follow your own vet's advice.

How long is a cat pregnant?
About 60 to 65 days according to the Merck Veterinary Manual, with delivery typically 64 to 66 days after breeding. That is roughly nine weeks.
What if I don't know when my cat was mated?
A calculator can't help without a date. Your vet can estimate how far along she is from an examination, ultrasound or X-ray and give you a working due date.
Can a vet confirm my cat is pregnant?
Yes. Merck says pregnancy can usually be detected by about day 21 to 30, and an X-ray after day 55 can show how many kittens there are.
Is this calculator accurate for all cat breeds?
It uses the general range for domestic cats. Individual queens vary, so treat the date as a planning estimate and confirm it with your vet.
